Works for Me Wednesday

Ok, I know some of you may think this is a little "shady". But I am going to do it and it will work for me. Anyway, since I have been trying to do this CVS and reward bucks thing, I decided to move all my prescriptions, 4 between the fam and I, from Walgreens and HEB to CVS. Besides, it would be better and make more sense to have them all at one place right? Also since I have been trying to save a little money I have been looking through all the local ads and I discovered that Kroger always has a coupon in their flyer for $20 off groceries if you moved your prescription to their pharmacy. So, after a little investigating I have found out that I can move 1 presription per week to Kroger and get that $20 coupon. That will be a total of $100 in savings on groceries over the next few weeks. Then when it is time to get them all refilled, I will move them to CVS. And when I move them to CVS I will get some reward bucks for getting them filled there too! WOOHOO!!!!

Don't know if that would work for you, but it does for me!

For more WFMW head on over to Shannon's at Rocks in My Dryer.

I think that is very clever. I belong to a HMO, so I can't do that.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I always seem to find those "$20 gift card with a new prescription" deals right after I fill a prescription. Doh! :)

It's not shady if you are following their rules.

Pretty clever idea, if you have the patience to keep switching. Most of the pharmacy chains in our area have incentives for people to switch. I'm sure they do in other areas too.

I do the same thing! In fact, I have a $30.00 gift card from CVS right for transferring my perscription from Tom Thumb. Two thumbs up.

I second T with Honey. You are being frugal and that works for me too. :-)

It's not shady. The pharmacy's register will only let you do what you're allowed to do--in Kroger's case, one new transfer per week. Pharmacies put these offers out counting on you to be too lazy to switch your prescription again--much like the rebate system. For every customer like you who takes full (and again, Not Shady!) advantage of the offers there are probably thirty customers who keep their prescriptions at the new store--and probably many of them even forget to cash in their free offer!

Thanks ladies for the support!!! I didn't feel it was too shady, but just thought I would put that out there!
