So Many Things!

There are so many things going through my head right now. Thoughts of regret, happiness, fear, excitement, saddness, business, frustration, usefulness, laziness and axiousness. The majority of those thoughts are negative and I acknowledge them to be from Satan. He has really been attacking me these last few days.

He has been attacking me at home, at work, at the grocery store and even a time or two at church. I have felt like a terrible mommy. I have yelled at the kids way too much! Not fed them breakfast at home only to find out that the only thing they had for breakfast on Thursday at that day care they were attending was FRIED BOLOGNA! Nothing with it...just fried bologna. Now I had fried bologna as a child, and there was nothing wrong with it (we called it the poor man's meat!) But to know that I could have made them something better at home that morning and didn't, I just felt terrible! I just praise God that TODAY is the last day they will be at that daycare!!! I spend most mornings in a fight with Timothy to get him out the door and in the past couple of days Rachel has joined him. I have yelled at them so much that I have made myself sick over it! I don't have a very large amount of patience (which is something that I have been praying about lately) and my poor precious little ones have suffered more lately than they ever should.

God had entrusted them to me and Carlton. To take care of, to show HIS love, to grow in HIS way. They are the most precious thing to me on this earth, but lately I have not treated them as such. Lately I have treated them as another chore! (tears) (more tears) I love them SO much. I want them to know that in their minds and feel that in their hearts. I want them to never doubt that I love them and am here to take care of them. But today, I feel that with the way I have been acting lately, I could see where they would doubt! (tears) (sobbing tears)

My friends, please pray for me! Sorry for the depressing post.

Day Care Blues

Well friends, pray for me. I should have made this post earlier, so that those of you who read this post could have already prayed! I am telling my day care director today that Friday is the last day the kids will be there. I have found out that the daycare is on PROBATION for many things and I am not thrilled about.

PRAISE THE LORD I found someone to watch the kids at our house just last week. I was already paid through this week though so the kids had to go, there was no way this woman would give me my money back. Besides, I did see today in the papers they gave me when I enrolled them that I am suppose to give them a 2 week notice before I pull them out. I know that this may not be the best way to handle things, but I am telling her today that their last day will be this Friday. I am simply going to tell her that I am doing this in the best interest of my children. IF she does complain and tell me that I have to pay her for that 2nd week that I am not giving her the notice for, then I will state all the real reasons I am taking them out, and point out to her that I know they are on probation and that she does NOT have it posted like she should!

Please pray for me! I don't want confrontation, but I feel that she might try to be that way. I also don't want her to take things out on my children. I know she is not with them all day, but I wouldn't want her to talk about me in front of them, or to be hateful to them either. If she does, a "Mommy Rage" may surface. I don't want it to, so please pray!!!!

just checking something

I am trying to add a ticker on this page somewhere...just checking to see if I accidentally put it on the bottom of my posts.

Random Things

This is just a post of random things. Things that I find funny, cute, interesting. Things that my kids have said or done.

Rachel - Every time she "has an accident" in her pullup or panties, she looks at me and says "I sawy Mom", "I di mean to" "I no pow pow"

Timothy - Every time something happens he yells, "Mooommmmaaa, come look at what Rachel did! I go to see and it is obviously something that he had to have done!

Rachel - Every morning, I wake her up, tell her good morning and I love you, and she looks at me with that "just woke up look" and says, "I want pink milk!"

Timothy - Recently his favorite word is "Sweet" I gave him a 2nd corn on the cob after he finished all the food on his plate last night and he said, "Thank you Momma, SWEET!"

Isn't this crazy, I thought of doing this yesterday and had many things to say, but since I have started it today, I can't think of them! (I think it is because I am at work, and there are kids coming in and out of our room today!) Oh well, I'll think of more later, write them down and then make another post!

That's Not The Easter Bunny!

Funny story.....Wednesday night as we were leaving church, Timothy became very upset when he found out that we were NOT going "out" to eat! He was upset because he wanted to go eat with Janna, our pastor's daughter that he has declared he will marry one day! He cried all the way home.

As I pulled in the drive I noticed a rabbit at the edge of our yard. I said, "Timothy do you see that rabbit?" He said, "NO! Was it the Easter Bunny?", and the flood gates opened once more! I backed up to see if that would help any and it did not. He became hysterical wondering where it had gone. He thought our dog had gotten the bunny! I told him and Rachel to wait in the car and I would go get a flash light to see if we could find the bunny. (I was willing to do this to stop the hysteria!) When I came back out, they were still in their seats waiting. I opened the door and told them to quietly get out of the car. Then the search was on!

I scanned the light along the side of our house and the neighbor's house that is next to our drive way. We saw nothing! I scanned the front yard, and we still saw nothing. I scanned the flower beds and .....there he was!!!! Timothy was SO excited! Rachel wouldn't move from my side, but Timothy wanted to get the rabbit. I told him that the bunny was so fast and he wouldn't be able to get to him quick enough since the bunny was already far away from him. He put his hands out in front of him, as if he were reaching for him, and said, "But I want to hug him and kiss him." Then he bent down and watched the rabbit. Then he looked at me and with a serious look on his face said, "Mommy, he is too small to be the Easter Bunny! Maybe he is the Easter Bunny's helper." I obliged him and said, "Maybe he was here to make sure you and Rachel found all your Easter eggs." Timothy smiled and said, "I think so!"

Wasn't that sweet! We went in and called my mother to let Timothy tell Meme and Papa about the bunny. My mother told Timothy that I had a bunny whenI was a little kid (thanks Momma). Then she told him that she would show him pictures if she could find them. He told her that she couldn't show them to her through the phone! We laughed and then she told him that she would bring them the next time she comes to see us.

He can't wait! (hope you find the pictues Momma!)

Easter Pictures (Finally!)

Finally!!!! I got pictures from Easter Sunday developed! My mother is probably fainting right now since I actually sent them to her, and it was less than a month!!!

They really do love each other!

Timothy helping Rachel find her gold egg.

He actually found his before her....momma just put them in the wrong order!

Rachel started opening every egg before she put them in her basket. I think this is a 2 year old thing. I distinctly remember Timothy doing that too!
Rachel is hard to catch with her eyes open! (Aren't they cute!)

Crazy Monday

This was one of the craziest Mondays in a very long time! To start it all off I turned my alarm off instead of hitting the snooze button. I usually get up around 5:40, but I didn't wake up until 6:30! (This is the second time in a week that I did this!!!) I was doing okay in making up time until I woke Timothy....... He looked at me and said, "We don't go to school today do we?" When I told him we did, then he became suddenly ill and said he couldn't go because he was sick.

This has been going on for about two weeks now, but today was very dramatic and almost seemed traumatic for him. He worked himself up to a cry that almost made him throw up! I felt so terrible! We finally got him calmed down. Carlton talked to him and found out that other kids were calling him names. We had heard him say this before, but didn't realize that he was SO bothered by it. Carlton talked to him a while, and tried to explain the best he could to a four year old, that not everyone is going to like you. He told him that there are people who don't like Daddy either. Timothy was very shocked by this. (Daddy is perfect in his eyes!) He finally calmed down, but was still hesitant in going to school. He was quiet the whole way there. When we go to his room he was very reserved and just looked around the room with a "whipped" puppy look on his face. It was very sad for me!

I talke to his teacher for a few minutes and made her aware of what was going on with him. I told her to call me if he had any problems today. (Unfortunately, I don't think she will!) She tells me ALL the time how sweet and caring and well behaved Timothy is, but this moring she almost talked like he might have brought on some of this name calling himself. (I wouldn't dissmiss that entirely since he is a very active little boy) However, I didn't feel comfortable about it at the time!

Then on top of all that, the fire alarm in the building where Rachel is went off! So I helped get all of them out. The determined it was the toaster oven that set it off pretty quickly, but then I had to consol Rachel before she would go back to class. When I left the daycare, the train that takes forever and a day to pass was passing.

With all that happened this moring I was 35 minutes late to work!!!!!!

IT HAS BEEN A CRAZY MORNING!!

Weekend

Well, it is Friday and my weekend is about to officially start!! YOOHOO!!! However, it seems as if this weekend of mine will be filled with cleaning a house! A much needed cleaning!!! Today has been slow at work. We are getting ready for TAKS testing next week and my assignment has been changed a couple times in the past two days. But that is okay, the Lord will see me through it, just like He will see me though the cleaning of my house. :)

Be in prayer for a couple things:

1. A friend from college, MMM...her sister is expecting and having some difficulties. I am not sure of all the details, but I know they need prayer. Pray for her, the baby and her family (hubby, and 2 small children) at home.

2. MMM...that she can discern what God wants her to do about the business in her life right now.

3. My mother...she is tired! She works full time and takes care of my grandpa (her father-in-love) She has others around her, but they are not much help!

4. Carlton as he continues to "get in" with this new group of kids.

5. Timothy...his "testy" little behavior these days. That Carlton and I will know the best way to handle it so that his little behind doesn't stay the color of stawberries!

6. Rachel and potty training!

7. Me...that I not get so overwhelmed with everything. That I can get that mess of a house cleaned and somewhat keep it that way. At this moment I am very embarrassed by it to say the least!

Well, that's it....have a good weekend!

DQ

Overwhelmed!!

This blogging stuff is crazy!! I stumbled onto a site called Momsville, some kind of Google Group, and I signed up! I had over 100 emails in my hotmail account this morning! That is crazy. I sure am glad I have that hotmail account, because I am afraid the school district would be a bit upset if I had some group flooding their email!! It was crazy!

How do you all keep up with "life"? My house is a mess, clean laundry piled up in the chair in the living room, dirty laundry on almost every floor, even the kitchen since that is where the clothes came off the kids as we came through the door at 9:30 last night and were in a mad rush to get them to bed...their usual bed time is about 7:30!! (I know that seems early to many, but they wake up around 6:00 am no matter what time they go to bed!!) The kitchen has clean dishes in the dishwasher and a few dirty ones in the sink, my floors haven't been vaccuumed or swept and mopped in almost 2 weeks!!!!!

I AM ABOUT TO GO INSANE!!!!! I could do more at night, but by the time I get home, cook dinner, get the kids baths, play (if there is time), and put them to bed...I just want to sit! Call it lazy...sometimes I do, but sometimes I defend it and say I need the "down time."

Is anyone else there with me??

Diets

About 2 weeks ago I started yet another diet! I have lost 7 pounds so far! This time I am drinking SlimFast. I know that I can not continue to drink this for the rest of my life, but for now it is working for me. My goal is to loose 30 pounds total by the end of July. There are several reasons for this....
1. To feel better physically.
2. To set a better example for my kids.
3. Carlton and I are going on a vacation to Cozumel! (I don't want to look like whale on the beach!)

Truthfully, I want to loose the weight, but I also want to learn to eat healthier. So far, with the exception of Easter weekend, I am learning. I am learning to choose the "better" foods and to eat smaller portions. Now I just have to start exercising!!!!

Pray for me as I start this endeavor!

Day Care

Well...my second blog is already one with complaints! I don't like the day care the kids attend. This is not a secret to those around me either. Sometimes I feel terrible about complaining all the time, but on the other hand, I am really frustrated with this entire situation. I have to work. Therefore the kids have to go to daycare. We have tried several times to find someone to watch the kids at home, but three times that failed and I was left with scrambling to find a daycare. The one they are currently at started off okay when there was a different director, but now that they changed, the whole place is nothing but a frustration for me. Rachel is still not potty trained, because they are not consistent in taking her to the bathroom. At home we can keep her dry if we take her or tell her to go about every two hours. But at the daycare they have been going through three or more pullups or pairs of panties a day! UGHHH!! Timothy has been allowed to "play around" so much that now they are frustrated when he won't sit still and do some "work" or when he wants to play around during rest time. So now I get a call about every other day about his behavior during the day while I am at work. Now Carlton and I are having to "undo" this behavior that they have allowed to continue. He is a very sweet and compassionate child, but just like most 4 year olds, he will play around and get into things if he is allowed.

Well, I have vented enough for now. I guess I need to get to work. Just pray that the daycare does not call me today! :)

Blessings,
DQ

Getting Started

Well,

I have started seeing that many people have these "blog spots" or some kind of online journals. So I decided to start one myself. Actually, I tried starting one on another site, but it was just too much for me to keep up with. I never had the time to get the whole thing really started. This site seems easy enough, that I thought I would get started here.

Carlton and I are now in Nederland, TX. We LOVE it here. The Lord is blessing us daily and I pray I never cease to acknowledge that. We have two beautiful children, Timothy is 4 and Rachel is 2. Their personalities are totally opposite yet they are two peas in a pod. Everything Rachel see's Timothy do, she tries to do also. I am sure those of you with multiple children understand that one.

I had to take Timothy to the doctor yesterday. While we were there the doctor looked at him and said, "You are definitely not an introvert are you?" Timothy looked at him like he knew what he was talking about. He raised his eyebrows, shook his head and told him, "No!" The doctor and I laughed. Timothy is just like his Daddy!!

I hope to share many stories with you in the future. I am sure they will keep you rolling!
