You know I mentioned last week that my hubby had started this study on Wednesday nights titled Sex and Dating. Well, last night was so intense for some of the kids. There were two young girls at my table that are friends, but I noticed that one had called the other a wh.re! I had to get to the bottom of that so I told them both to come with me and we went into a different room to chat.
One of the girls had called the other such a terrible name...."out of love!" (not a term of endearment I would want to be called mind you!) She said she did it becasue she is tired of watching her friend make herself in to this kind of person. Both of these girls are/have been sexually active. Both of them have been raped. Both come from broken homes. Both feel worthless.
This breaks my heart for them. We talked for a long time. And I left them feeling like nothing had been accomplished. I mean, they are still friends and all, but will what happened last night change the way they act? Will it mean enough to them that when they find themselves in a situation that they don't want to be in/know they shouldn't be in they will call me. (I programmed my phone numbers in their phones.) (Instead of Ms. Angie....I almost put "Say No to Sex...but I didn't!)
I told both of them that there is nothing they could tell me that would shock me.......and honestly there isn't, not anymore anyway. I wish there was, but there isn't!
I truly love these girls and all the other ones that are in our group. I love all girls. I talk to the girls here at my school all the time about such topics. I spent about 45 minutes of the morning yesterday talking to one of our students that is 4 months pregnant in the 8th grade!!!!
She was very upset and needed to talk to someone, but those around her WOULD NOT LISTEN!!!!! Instead, they just kept fussing at her. By goodness, give her a little break. Besides, how did they expect her to take our state's exam and PASS or do well on it if she was so upset??? All she wanted is for someone to listen. She feels like she is diseased, used and all alone. We talked for a while, then we hugged for a while. Once she was calm, she took her test and actually told me that she felt pretty good about it as well.
Where am I going with all this.....
I don't really know....
I do know that God has allowed so many things to happen in my life. And I want to use those things to minister to young girls. I want to do more than I am doing now. But what???
My heart aches for them.
Pray for me on this......

That is a huge load. Sometimes all it takes is one person caring and believing in these kids. You may not know till heaven where you made a difference. You are planting seeds friend. That is great. Hugs, Angel
Wow. GOd is definitely up to something. I'll be praying that He'll show you exactly what it is. He's in control! Thank you for being willing to believe in these girls and talk to them openly and honestly. That takes a huge heart!

You are showing her what God already knows.....she is worth something, and will learn from you to know she is worth A LOT. The worst thing I ever hear people call other people is 'trash'...that hurts me to the bone...and I hate it and have lost respect for 'good' people over the use of that term. You are doing wonderful things and you will help make wonderful things happen. Prayers going up for you.
This is a tough subject. I know what you are going through. It sounds like you are being just what these girls need, someone to talk to that won't say "YOU DID WHAT??!" God is doing something and has plans for you, continue to listen, I will pray for you!
Maybe my darling Baby Girl you know all to well what this YOUNG girl is going through because of several facts. But mainly because God put you where you are right now and in the path of that young girl. I remember when YOU were 16 and you befriended a girl in school and brought her home with you, she was very much with child and other girls would not be her friend. You did not care because you knew that your momma & daddy would totally understand because your momma was only 16 when she was carring YOU. And even though it was NOT the easiest thing to do we made it through all the hard times, BUT only because we had GOD first to lean on and our family stood beside us all the way. it is not what we do in life that causes us the most pain, it is how we deal with what happens that counts. That young girl needs to be encouraged and NOT chastised. That child no matter how it comes into the world is still a child of GODS and who are we are anyone else to question that. She has enough on her plate without anyone coming down on her. Just keep your shoulder open for her and the many others God will put in your path.
I LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!!!
